Apple River Undeveloped Property
St. Croix County owns approximately 59 acres of land on the
Apple River in the Town of Star Prairie. The Northern States Power Company
donated the land to the County in 1964. The land is divided by County Road H.
The site is used by the neighboring property owners and some local hunters and
fishermen.
The Apple River Property is designated as a County open
space and natural recreation area. The site is under the authority
of the Land and Water Conservation Committee. The
Committee, Parks Department, Planning Department and Sportsmen's Alliance
work together to keep the site in its natural state to maintain hunting,
fishing hiking, canoeing, etc., at the site and preserve the resource for the
future.
