County Forests

Kinnickinnic County Forest

Kinnickinnic County Forest

St. Croix County owns approximately 80 acres of forestland in Section 26 of Kinnickinnic Township.  The forest is located on Evergreen Drive approximately a half mile east of County Road JJ.  The forest is managed by the County Parks Department and is under the authority of the Land and Water Conservation Committee.

The County has owned and managed the land since May of 1959.  The site was originally obtained for youth forestry education.  The Kinnickinnic Forest is managed for multiuse, including timber production, recreation and education.

Existing facilities include a parking lot and hiking trails. 

The forest was thinned in 2006 and is open for hunting.

 

Stanton County Forest

Stanton Forest Trails

St. Croix County owns approximately 40 acres of forestland in Section 2 of Stanton Township.  The forest is located on 185th Street approximately one mile north of the intersection of County Roads H and T.  The forest is managed by the County Parks Department and is under the authority of the Land and Water Conservation Committee.

The County has owned the land since 1944 and has managed the land for forestry since 1950.  This site was originally obtained for youth forestry education.  The Stanton Forest is managed for multiuse, including timber production, recreation and education.

Existing facilities include a parking lot and hiking trails.

The forest was thinned in 2007 and is open for hunting.
