District Attorney Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson has served as District Attorney for St. Croix County since 1989.  Johnson was re-elected in November of 2000 to his ninth term as District Attorney. He is a graduate of Luther College and Hamline University School of Law. He served as St. Croix County Assistant District Attorney from 1982-1984. In 1984, he was elected District Attorney in Pierce County, Wisconsin and was re-elected in 1986 and 1988. In 1989 he was appointed District Attorney in St. Croix County by Governor Thompson and was re-elected in 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996 and 1998.

District Attorney Johnson has also served as President of the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association in 1990 and 1995. He is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, the National District Attorneys Association, St. Croix Valley Bar Association, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, Wisconsin Consumer Protection Advisory Council, Judicial Council, Rotary, Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board, St. Croix County United Way Board, and a founder of the St. Croix County Child Fatality Review Panel and District Attorney's "Stop Drugs" Poster Contest. Johnson also received the Attorneys General's Award for Leadership and Service to Law Enforcement. District Attorney Johnson has also served as an instructor for the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina and has instructed numerous law enforcement agencies in St. Croix County and the State of Wisconsin.

As District Attorney of St. Croix County, Johnson is responsible for administering an office of 15 people including five assistant district attorneys and a budget of over $1,000,000.
