Plastic
grocery bags are made of Type 2 (high-density polyethylene film - HDPE) and
Type 4 (low density or linear-low density polyethylene film - LDPE/LLDPE)
which are recyclable. Once the bags are recycled, they are made into lumber,
trashcan liners or plastic bags.In
St Croix County, Wal-Mart stores generally accept plastic bags for recycling
and will take bags from other stores, too. Or use your bags as small trash
bags, lunch bags, or for cleaning up after your pet. Better yet, avoid
plastic bags, use reusable cloth shopping bags on your next shopping trip.
