Residents of St Croix County, who use syringes, lancets and other sharp medical items at home,  such as people with diabetes and other medical conditions, are able to properly dispose of these items separately from their household trash for free. This is made possible by a unique partnership between local Lions Clubs, St Croix County Public Health Department, St Croix County Recycling Program, and many local hospitals and care centers.

Empty containers can be picked up and full containers can be dropped off at the following locations in St Croix County:

	Baldwin Area Medical Center, Baldwin;
	Glenhaven Care Center, Glenwood City;
	American Heritage Care Center, Hammond;
	Hudson Hospital, Hudson;
	Westfields Hospital (formerly Holy Family), New Richmond;
	Parkview Care Center, Woodville;
	River Falls Area Hospital, River Falls.
