Property Tax Information

bulletIf you own multiple properties, check to make sure you have a statement for each property. When paying the taxes on these properties make sure to enclose the payment stub for each property to assure that payments are applied correctly.
bulletDue date for the 1st installment or full payment is January 31 of each year.
bulletThe St Croix County Treasurer's Office collects the first installment of taxes for the following municipalities. If you are not listed on this list, your 1st installment of taxes is payable to your local Municipal Treasurer.

bulletDue date for 2nd installment payment is July 31 of each year.
bulletThe St Croix County Treasurer's Office collects the 2nd installment of taxes and all delinquent taxes for all 35 municipalities.
bulletAll payments must be postmarked on or before the due date to be deemed as on time.
bulletPayment of your taxes after the due date constitutes a penalty and interest charge of 1 1/2% per month.
bulletIf you are delinquent on your first installment your entire bill is subject to penalty and interest starting February 1 until it is paid in full. This is per Wisconsin State Statute 74.11(11).
bulletIf you are delinquent on your second installment of taxes your balance is subject to penalty and interest of 1 1/2 % per month and starts  also on February 1. This is Per Wisconsin State Statute 74.11(11).
bulletFailure to receive a property tax bill does not exempt you from owing taxes. Wisconsin Statutes 74.09(6).
bulletThe St Croix County Treasurer's office is not obligated to send out receipts for your payment. If you would like a receipt please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your payment.
bulletIf your escrow check is more than your tax amount your overpayment will be sent to the escrow agent unless the check is in your name as well as the County's. Overpayments will be sent approximately 2 weeks after payment was received.
