Special Exceptions
A special exception permit is required for a use that is listed as a “Special Exception ” within a zoning district. A list of possible special exceptions are included in the St. Croix County Zoning Ordinance under each zoning district. A special exception request is reviewed by the Board of Adjustment through a public hearing process on the 4th Thursday of every month. An individual applying for a special exception permit is required to submit a complete application to the St. Croix County Zoning office by the 1st Monday of the month prior to the Board of Adjustment meeting (ex. meeting on February 22nd, submit application by 1st Monday in January). During this lag period the applicant is strongly urged to meet with their local Town board to discuss their proposal and obtain a written recommendation. |
