Land Divisions
The Zoning Department is required to administer the subdivision ordinance in order to regulate and control subdivision development within St. Croix County in order to promote the public health, safety, general welfare, and aesthetics. Among other ways, this can be accomplished by: requiring an orderly layout and use of land; preventing undue concentrations of population; preventing congestion on highways, roads and streets; securing safety from fire, panic and other dangers; requiring adequate light and air; facilitating the adequate provision of water, sewer, transportation and surface drainage systems; and schools, parks, playgrounds and other public facilities. If you are intending to either sell or purchase property, please contact the zoning office to insure that the correct procedures are being followed to create a legal parcel. A surveyor will draft your map and assist in the subdivision process.
